“Isaac was a healthy 30 year old, who took care of his body, was a vegetarian, an outdoorsman, and practiced yoga intensively. He had just become a certified yoga instructor and ran a successful wedding and fashion photography business with his wife, when he experienced a sudden onset of blurry vision over labor day weekend 2011. After an optometry and doctor’s visit and a CT scan “just to be safe,” he was told the worst possible news….he had a very large brain tumor.”

When Richard and I heard about Stephanie and her husband Isaac, our hearts went out to them.  My mother was also was diagnosed with a brain tumor over 15 yrs ago but unfortunately it left her severely disabled.  However, we are fortunate and blessed that she is still with us today.  Every day is a struggle for her, but somehow somewhere deep inside she finds the strength to move forward.  Although she struggles to speak, and things are tough for her, she does manage to always say, “one day at a time”.  I often think about this saying, as well as how each day is a gift for all of us, and that we should truly embrace life to the fullest.  We were blessed to have family, friends and strangers that reached out to our family when we needed help for mom’s treatment.  Richard and I would like to pay that forward by helping Isaac.
